Spine Clinic I will always provide care with sincerity and dedication.
Spinal stenosis occurs when the spinal canal narrows, compressing the nerves and causing pain. The most common cause is age-related degeneration, including disc degeneration, facet joint changes, osteophyte formation, and thickening of the yellow ligament. Symptoms include pain while standing or walking, which improves with sitting or bending forward, and returns when walking resumes. Diagnosis is made through physical exam and MRI, similar todisc herniation. Treatment often requires more invasive surgery, including bone removal, but conservative options like nerve decompression or balloon dilation are usually tried first.
